A reflection of literary and cultural production in Macau in Portuguese since the handover.
Macau New Readings marks the 20th anniversary of the transfer of the Portuguese administration from Macau to the People's Republic of China, celebrated in 2019 and also marking the end of the Portuguese colonial cycle. It proposes a comprehensive reflection on some of the most relevant literary and cultural production dedicated to Macau since the transfer, focusing on writing in Portuguese but without neglecting other voices and literary traditions. Studies and testimonies from both Macau researchers and Macau writers are shared, and a brief collection of texts representing this most recent phase of Macau's literary and cultural delta is offered.
